That ratio is set by the walkway itself, not by demand — the restored route through the tunnels is 160 metres of raised decking through a working excavation, and it is walked in groups of 25 with an escort. The membership does not help. Parco Membership at €25, €50 or €80 buys unlimited Forum and Palatine entry and a weekly Colosseum admission, and its own page states that the attic and the underground are not included. Two things justify the gap honestly. The first is the quota: an operator can offer a hypogeum date the public shop has not had for weeks, and that is the entire reason most readers are on this page. The second is the group.

The standard ticket sold 39 entry slots a day between 08:30 and 18:00 in September, dropping to 36 slots ending at 17:15 from 30 September. Security screening at the entrance is where the time goes; the queue for a booked slot is not the same as the queue people photograph.
The first Sunday of the month is a free-admission day at the Colosseum. It is also a day the underground ticket is not sold at all — 4 October 2026 is simply absent from the sales calendar.
